Welcome to my world!

Welcome Andrew Christopher Piskuric February 6, 2011 at 9:14 am

Sarah and I are excited to announce the birth of Andrew Christopher Piskuric!

Andrew was born at St. Josephs Hospital at 5:03PM on February 3rd 2011. Andrew weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs 5 ounces and is 21 inches in length. A healthy boy to say the least!

Andrew was born about 26 hours after labour was induced but only after a Caesarean section was preformed as he was a little too big to fit down the right tube. The surgery went spectacularly well and both mommy and baby are doing well.

Goodbye iPhone… hello Nexus One! March 30, 2010 at 10:02 pm

As you all know I am a technology nut. I love all aspects of the tech world from software to hardware and all in-between. A few years ago I became infatuated with all things Apple. In 2005 I bought my first Apple product, an iPod. In 2006 I bought a Mac Mini and ventured into the world of OSX. In 2008 I bought an iPhone after much desire and begging of Rogers to carry it.

In the past year though my feelings have changed. In September I purchased a new top of the line Dell PC with Windows 7 and have had no regrets. Windows 7 is stable and sleek and works perfect for me and my needs. That was a big leap but the leap I made this past week was bigger. I purchased a Google Nexus One phone to replace my iPhone.

Wedding and Honeymoon!!! October 9, 2009 at 1:47 pm

Wow! what a two weeks! They have been busy and eventful and fun and thus have flown by. In those two weeks Sarah and I have gotten married and been on our honeymoon. There is so much to talk about with the wedding story and the honeymoon review. So buckle down and get ready for it!

Sarah and I started our holidays on Monday September 21st, one week before the wedding. During that week we finished the last bits of the preparation for wedding. We had to build the table cards and lollipops that were given to our guests, make final design decisions, make CD’s for the band to play when they took breaks and that doesn’t even include the rehearsal and hall setup.

Moved In! (but work is not done….) August 8, 2009 at 9:44 pm

I write this as I sit in the kitchen of my new house!!! Yes my new house! On Wednesday August 5th Sarah and I picked up the keys to our very own home. It was a happy and exciting time but it wasn’t without its tribulations as well.

Holy Thunderstorm Batman! July 27, 2009 at 7:39 pm

On Sunday July 26 2009 the Hamiltion area got slammed with a little bit of rain. And by little bit I mean record breaking amounts!

Sarah and I were scheduled to take engagement pictures at McMaster University at 2pm. We went to church at 11am and figured that we would have plenty of time to get ready between noon and 2pm. Going into church we could see dark clouds on the horizon but figured the storm would pass when the service finished. I was wrong!

New home(page)!!! July 13, 2009 at 11:05 pm

Ok this definitely qualifies as BIG NEWS!!! Sarah and I are homeowners! Yes you read that right. We just completed the final paperwork on Thursday July 9, 2009 and will take possession on August 5th 2009. More about that later but I want to get something quick out of the way first.

Very quickly I want to point out the new look and feel of the site. I wanted to make it look more “bloggy”, essentially putting complete focus on the blog itself.

The Wedding Plans April 14, 2009 at 4:00 pm

Well as promised last week I’m back with the details of the wedding plans.

Being just 5 months and a bit away you would think that Sarah and I would be 100% set on the wedding plans and have everything booked and confirmed. Well nope! Actually, its not as bad as I make it out be be but there are still a few things to do.

The biggest and scariest thing is that we still don’t have entertainment. We were going to book a DJ and have them play Croatian songs along with top 40 and oldies. We went to a few stag and does and listened to a few DJ’s and liked what we heard. But we have yet too book something.

iPhone Screwjob to iPhone Sellout :) July 17, 2008 at 9:55 pm

OK I have succumbed to the powerful pull of the iPhone and I have gone out and purchased one. Yes I know I was one who complained about the prices and the evil that is Rogers but I am now a customer.

I’ll be honest I’m a little ashamed. I was one of the first 500 to sign the online petition at ruinediphone.com and I sent Rogers a nasty email is detailed in my last post. But dammit its a cool device and I wanted it and I guess I have more money then brains.

iPhone screwjob June 27, 2008 at 11:24 pm

For all my Canadian friends that are interested in purchasing the iPhone on July 11 I’m sure you have read the Rogers rate plans by now. And if you are a poor boy like me you are most likely as angry as I am.

For weeks after the announcement on June 9th there have been many rumors that Rogers would be consumer savvy and make their rate plans on par with AT&T in the US. At $30 per month for unlimited data downloads the iPhone is very attractive. If you have ever played with it you would know that the web experience is amazing. You can view webpages just as they are on your home computer. Heck you can download and watch YouTUBE videos. Thats a lot of data. The cheapest plan allows only 400MB of data download!!! I can go through that in a few hours. Thats ridiculous! The most expensive plan is $115 a month and allows 2GB. Thats incredibly expensive.
